What type of lights do I use?

My reception hall has all flourescent lights. And they are way too bright. I do not want to draw attention to the ceiling. What other types of lights can I use to make sure there is enought lighting? I will have lots of Candles on the tables and there will be some stage lights probably for the dance floor from the dj. I was thinking about having a tall floor lamp in a few corners of the room. The kind with the glass shade that points upward.
All the ceiling lights will be turned off
The ceiling is so high that you can’t reach it with a ladder. You would have to have a sky lift machine. Secondly The room is too large for that 45 feet wide and 99 feet long
that would be 4455 feet of ceiling to cover with paper

If you’re getting married after Christmas, watch the sales for white light strands. You can get a good deal and put lights in trees, etc.
